Join our new union eDues system! eDues is a new mechanism for payment of your union dues through direct bank draft transfer that you can set up on the same schedule as your current regular deductions from your paycheck. UFF is partnering with the Florida Education Association (FEA) to offer eDues to members through Plaid, a third-party technology platform that facilitates communication between your bank account and your union’s bank account to complete an ACH payment (The Automated Clearing House network).
UFF joins with other unions and AAUP chapters in calling on institutional leaders in Florida and across the country to “reinstate student organizations shut down in recent months for political activity, to drop charges against peaceful protesters, to observe due process in disciplinary actions, to keep armed law enforcement off campuses, and to uphold fundamental freedoms for students and faculty”.
This year’s distribution of the “Intellectual Freedom and Viewpoint Diversity Survey,” mandated by HB 233 (2021), is underway. This survey requires all faculty, staff, and students to disclose not only their own political and religious views but also those they perceive to belong to their peers. Celebrating the Life of Dr. Roscoe Hightower, Jr., UFF-FAMU Chapter President (February 7, 1966 – April 4, 2024). Roscoe was known to many as a long-time leader within UFF and a tireless advocate for FAMU faculty. He was also known to some as a colleague and a friend.
